Video of the Arvin Remembrance is now available 
Videos of the Arvin Remembrance are being offered by the Sailplane Homebuilders Association.  The historic gathering on April 29, 2000 commemorated the history and people of the famed Arvin Sierra Glider Port, home of the West Coast Soaring Championships of 1937-1941.   See the site where records were broken, large crowds attended, and famous glider pilots soared.

Catch a piece of soaring history - as vintage gliders  fly in to Arvin after nearly 60 years, and as the site was dedicated by the National Soaring Museum as a National Landmark of Soaring.  Be there again at this famous site!  The event on April 29th was like a Who's Who of western soaring history- get your copy now!


Two videos are offered:
#1 - "A Casual View of the Arvin Remembrance"
Professionally filmed by Pete Berkson.  Shows many of the activities held on site, plus much of the banquet festivities, highlighted by a presentation by Dick Johnson.  This is a long, wonderful, stellar video!

#2 - "Arvin Sierra Glider Port"
Developed by Eye Street Publications, produced by Kern County's acclaimed Vivian Tucker, a local historian and TV reporter.  Is about 18 minutes long, and includes the TV clip she developed for local TV news on the Arvin Sierra Glider Port, plus "the rest of the story".   Superb history and filming of a beautiful site!
